Formula Can Upcycle

As 9th-month pregnancy boredom sets in I find myself seeing "crafting possiblities" EVERYWHERE. It's almost a problem, I go to the store &in my head everything I see I think "Why would I buy that when I can make it at home for wayy less?" So on my quest for storage ideas for my son's things, I figured I'd put these used items to a refurbished &more "pretty to look at" use. Enjoy (:

Materials Used: 2 Old formula cans, Mod Podge(I'm sure Fabric Glue, Spray Adhesive or what ever glue you have would work just fine), Sponge Brush(Same thing-sponge or some sort of paint brush would work), any fabric you fancy for your pretty cans(I used 1 of the many used baby room curtain sets I received from friends), the striped scraps are just strips I cut from the extra material I wouldn't be using at the bottom of my fabric, &not pictured are scissors just to keep things cut straight and to clean up stray strings when I was done.
Step 1: 1st thing I did after I cut my fabric to the size of my cans, was take the strips of fabric I had cut out, &glued them one-by-one layered around the rim of the can, just so that once my main piece of fabric was on, I wouldn't have that silver edge showing. I simply repeated this same process on the 2nd can.

This is what they looked like after.

Step 2: All I did was spread a small amount of Mod Podge down the side of the can, from top to bottom, and placed the edge of my fabric against it, holding it there till I was satisfied that it had dried enough for me to move on. I continued in this fashion all the way around the can: spreading Mod Podge &pressing down the next section of fabric till it was dry, till I reached the end of the fabric.
Step 2(cont.): I repeated this with my 2nd can &that's all there was to it! Also the reason the edge of my fabric looks so neat &folded is since it was a curtain to begin with, that end happened to be hemmed already.
Step 3: I left my fabric just a tad bit long on the bottom when
I cut it to the size of the can in the beginning, just so I could cover that bottom silver edge as well. I glued the extra length over the edges just like I did in Step 1 to the top rim.
And THAT'S IT!
Turn your can(s) right-side-up &admire your handywork. (:

If I had the extra materials I probably would have, but if you have embellishments such as ribbon/flowers/buttons/letters etc. all you'd have to do is hot glue them on where ever you please &they'd make a great addition to your upcycled cans!
